TWBB Stitcher's Links FAQ

Q: What are the Stitcher's Links?

A: The Stitcher's Links is an index of links to pictures of other Bulletin Board members' stitching. The links can be sorted by member name or by design. By having the links to pictures all in one place, browsing through the work of other members is easy and enjoyable.

Q: Who can join the Stitcher's Links?

A: Any member of the Teresa Wentzler Bulletin Board can join the links. To be listed in the Listings by Member section, you'll need a link to your stitching website or stitching picture album. For the Listings by Design, you'll need a link to your TW design or TWBB nametag (in progress or finished). You don't need to have stitched a TW design, necessarily, but you do need a link to your website or picture album.

Q: What if I don't have a picture? Can I still be listed?

A: You can be listed in the Listings by Member area with a link to your website. The question of "Stitchers without Links" was put to a poll on the bulletin board in Summer 2001 and the overwhelming majority decided that extra names without links to pictures would clutter up the links. So we ask that you have a link to your website or picture.

Q: How long should I wait for an answer to a post about my pictures in the Stitcher's Links forum?

A: Normally you should receive a confirmation in a few days. If the moderator will be on vacation or otherwise unavailable for more than a few days, they will usually post in the Stitcher's Links forum when requests for updates will be processed again.

Q: How do I get my pictures added to the Stitcher's Links?

A: Post a message asking to be added in the Stitcher's Links forum. You must include the link to the picture in your post. If you want your real name listed after your user name, include that in the post as well. You should receive a response to your request in a few days.

Q: Why do I have to post on the bulletin board? Can't I just email you? Why don't you make a way to update the links automatically?

A: To ensure that links are owned by the bulletin board member, and are not switched, deleted, or otherwise tampered with by others, we ask that you post on the bulletin board. This way you have ultimate control over your listings.

Q: How do I get my pictures removed from the Stitcher's Links?

A: Post a message asking for your picture to be removed in the Stitcher's Links forum. Please be specific about which picture you would like removed.

Q: The link to my picture is broken! Can you fix it?

A: Post a message in the Stitcher's Links forum with a link to the correct picture. Please be specific about which picture's link is broken. You should receive a response to your request in a few days.

Q: My link is wrong! Can you fix it?

A: If any part of your link is incorrect, such as the link itself, your name, the WIP status, post a message on the bulletin board and it will be fixed as soon as possible. I am only human and mistakes do happen -- sorry!

Q: The link to my picture disappeared! Where did it go?

A: Sometimes links which are outdated or incorrect may be removed. Photo hosting sites come and go, webservers become temporarily unavailable, and sunspots wreck havoc with the internet. The moderator may remove links believed to be broken. If the links to your pictures disappear from the Stitcher's Links, this probably happened to you. Please post a message in the Stitcher's Links forum and we will correct it as soon as possible.

Q: When are pictures added to the Stitcher's Links?

A: Finished pieces may be added if they are posted on the bulletin board and the moderator happens to notice. WIPs will not be added unless there are no pictures of the design already on the links. (WIPs will always be added, however, if a message is posted in the Stitcher's Links forum.) In this case the moderator will post a message to that thread saying that the picture was added to the stitcher's links. Of course, the moderator may never notice, so a message in the stitcher's links forum asking that the picture be added is the fastest way to get your stitching on the links.
